About Christina

Over forty years of study and practice have given Christina Cross an understanding of the role the human energy system plays in our physical and psychological well-being. She has drawn her experience from healing arts as diverse as acupuncture, orthopedic massage, Shiatsu, Chinese herbalism, Shintaido, Voice Dialogue, and meditation.

Christina has been a licensed acupuncturist since 1985 and a certified massage therapist since 1976. She studied at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, San Francisco State University, the Sonoma School of Holistic Massage, the Academy of Intuitive Studies, and UC Berkeley. She studied Voice Dialogue facilitation from founders Hal and Sidra Stone and John Kent.

Christina began teaching in 1996. Since then, she has designed and taught a variety of courses that develop and strengthen the faculty of intuition. She has experience teaching people of all ages and from all walks of life: scientists, artists, educators, nurses, physicians, business people, musicians, and psychologists. In 1997, Christina began teaching an ongoing nine-year intuitive studies training for psychologists, therapists, social workers, and clergy. The class became a weekly forum for exploring the relationship between energy work and psychology. She has provided intuitive consultations for couples and individuals since 1991.

Philosophy

Working in these disciplines, Christina developed the understanding that every person has the power to access personal and universal healing energies. She has observed that physical, emotional, and psychological patterns also have an energetic component. Western culture has preserved little conscious understanding or language for working with the personal energetic system, so it is often overlooked in health and in relationships. And many people have lost—or forgotten—the art of energy etiquette: an awareness of, and responsibility for, the energetic aspects of communication in relationships.

Many illnesses and diseases may themselves be symptoms of underlying habits in the way people use—or don’t use—personal energies. If one’s energy becomes blocked or congested, the body will be affected. Sometimes, all that is needed is to strengthen one's personal boundary. Other times, work is needed on issues of grounding, clearing energy from the past, or finding a still, objective place within. Through meditation, yoga, martial arts, acupuncture, intuitive work, or simply attitude, thinking, and intention, people can change and liberate old energy patterns. Christina has observed, in hundreds of cases, that all people are naturally intuitive, but may not realize this until they recognize and release self-doubt, internalized feelings of invalidation.

Working with energy is an empirical science based upon experience and observation, not just theory. It regards sensory data as valid and informative. Working with energy and intuition involves practice, repetition, and discipline. As people reclaim their natural intuitive abilities, they begin to experience energy in a variety of ways—as light or color, gut feelings, as vibration or sound, as changes in weight, density, or pressure. Gradually, through meditation, increased awareness, and practice, people can begin to trust and refine their own unique and subtle ways of knowing.
